Took advantage of this mild weather and slid out Sunday afternoon for a few hours to get some work done. It took a couple stops, but I found a bunch of new friends for a play date. I invited a dozen of them to a fish fry later this week. Seemed like good ones to party with.
Crappie Fishing has picked up. Water temps in the mid 50s (ideal for crappie). With fish in a lot of different depths and biting a little more aggressively than the last two weeks. I caught fish as shallow as 6 feet and as deep as 18 feet. Spent about half my time side scanning new areas marking lots of cover. Fished some of it, but I like to spend an hour or two every outing looking for new areas and getting to know what’s there. One was loaded with cover and quite a few fish. So, it gives me some more options in that creek. Caught some of the nicer fish on some very short cover.
Caught most fish on Isom and Enid crappie Magnets on a 1/16-ounce Eye Hole. Filmed a bunch of the catches, so I will share more this week.
