Marshall County Hoopfest
The 2024 MRCOOL Marshall County Hoopfest is back December 4-7 at Marshall County High School in Draffenville, Kentucky.
This year’s lineup promises to be exciting as top teams from around the country mix it up with local high school teams from western Kentucky.

Light Up Calvert City & Christmas Bazaaar
In addition to Light Up Calvert City, the town is excited to host the Hot Air Balloon Glow at Doctors Park and Memorial Park on December 7th!
Starting at 4:30, stop in and listen to live Christmas music by Jazz Patrol, and enjoy hot chocolate, cookie decorating, carnival games, food trucks, and more! We will light the tree at 6:00 PM giving folks plenty of time to find their spot for the parade!
Speaking of the parade, it’s the longest-running Christmas Parade in Kentucky, happening on 5th Ave. at 7:00 p.m.
Want to enter a float? Line up at 5:45 PM at Pathway Baptist Church with judging at 6:00 PM. The Theme is “The Sounds of Christmas.” After the parade head to the Civic Center for a photo with Santa, hot dogs, and drinks served by the Calvert City Lions Club.
The Calvert City Christmas Bazaar will be happening on this day from 9am to 4pm at Altona Baptist Church, Calvert City Civic Center, First Baptist Church (Calvert City) and Lakeland Event Center..
Santa Fly In at Kentucky Dam Airport
On December 6th at 6:00 PM, Santa himself will make a spectacular airplane landing at Kentucky Dam Airport. While his famous sleigh gets a tune-up at the North Pole, Santa’s trading his reindeer for wings – but one special reindeer couldn’t bear to miss the fun and will be joining the festivities!
Your family will witness Santa’s exciting flight arrival and enjoy wonderful holiday activities. Create perfect Christmas memories with photos featuring Santa, Mrs. Claus, Santa’s favorite elf, and a real reindeer!
This enchanting experience is completely FREE! Tickets will be available November 15th at 8:00 AM. Entry is by car (one ticket per car), and with limited parking, we encourage carpooling to let more families enjoy the magic.
A Benton Christmas Festival & Lighted Parade
Downtown Benton, Kentucky will be the scene of holiday cheer with A Benton Christmas!
Save the date for December 14th as this year’s festival will feature a classic car show, kid’s crafts, the lighted Christmas parade and plenty of holiday cheer.
