Are you traveling along Highway 68 in Kentucky for the 400 Mile Yard Sale this weekend? In this blog, we’re answering your burning questions about where to shop, where to stay, and where to eat during the big sale weekend!
Where should I stop at the 400 Mile Yard Sale?
- Twin Lakes Antique Mall is home to 170+ vendors and dealers and 26,000 square feet of shopping! They have a wide selection of vintage glassware, belt buckles, cast iron, homegoods, furniture, crocks…If you can name it, they probably have it!
- Benton Marketplace has a little something from every era. Their items range from antique to mid-century to modern and the marketplace boasts 60+ booths! They have quilts, lawn decorations, handmade items, candies, clothes, furniture, and more.
- RGS on Main has everything from new to old, and quite simply has Really Good Stuff… see what they did there? They have brass, geese, duck, heart furniture, hats, and a variety of antique items.
- Black Dog Antiques is small but mighty. You won’t walk out of their store without wanting to purchase something! They have paintings, pitchers, furniture, transferware, vintage glasses–they have so much stuff to choose from that some of it is outside! They will have even more set up during the 400 Mile Yard Sale weekend–they wouldn’t give away any of their secrets, but just know it’s going to be worth stopping at!
- The Hitching Post & Old Country Store isn’t necessarily an antique store, but it is for sure a nostalgia-filled stop. The Hitching Post is their main store (the building in the middle) and is a “modern-day” Kentucky Lake gift shop. Walk across their porch to the Old Country Store (the building on the left) and you will be transported back in time. Inside, they have over 170 different old-fashioned sodas, they are always brewing fresh coffee, and if you’re lucky you’ll catch an episode of Leave it to Beaver on the TV downstairs. This is definitely the place to stop to get you in the old-fashioned spirit!
- Forgotten Past is also not exactly an antique store, but if you want to see some of the coolest, oldest antiques you’ve ever seen, you’ll definitely want to stop here. Not only do they have the antique museum, they also have old-fashioned candies, classic arcade games, and a classic jukebox, guaranteed to take you on a trip down memory lane.
- There will be sales all along Highway 68, so make sure to check out the complete list of sales happening at Kentucky Lake, visit the 400 Mile Yard Sale’s website!
